on Festival Republic Stage
Thomas Wynn and The
Believers hail from Orlando,
Florida, touted as "Southern Rock Muscle" by The Orlando Sentinel and
repeatedly reviewed as UNBELIEVABLE live!! Whether in an intimate setting
or on a massive festival stage, TW&TB infectiously impacts every listener.
TW&TB just headlined Jannus Live (Landing) in St. Pete, Florida
to a crowd swelling 900 in attendance, and the band recently played multiple
showcases at SxSW in Austin to a great buzz and Taste maker press. Their
live Vevo SxSW webcast was the highest viewed with over 22k viewers.
Not only performing
to festival audiences -- headliners of FMFs, Blackwater Music Festival,
BamaJam, Tropical Heatwave, Antiwarpt, TW&TB has shared the stage
with national acts Gov't Mule, Leon Russell, Drive-By Truckers, Leftover
Salmon, JJ Grey & Mofro, and Medeski, Martin & Wood, Honey Island Swamp
Band, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights and others.
2011 finds the band expanding their touring horizons nationally as they gear up
to release their sophomore recording in January 2012.
TW&TB has been playing their combination of impassioned rock and
southern soul on the Central Florida original music circuit for the past few
years and has quickly garnered local celebrity press status and fan buzz as a
result. As a
26-year-old
songwriter, Thomas’ tunes are brutally honest, astonishingly insightful and
incredibly heartfelt beyond his years. His powerful melodies and lyrical
hooks are seamlessly supported by his 23-year-old sister Olivia’s engaging
harmonies and striking presence. Standing side by side on stage, Olivia’s
wide-eyed vocal response is the perfect companion to Thomas' banshee cries, all
supported by a fiery six-piece ensemble that seems to effortlessly rise and
fall in perfect synchronicity with the duo.
In 2010, Thomas Wynn
and The Believers sold over 5,000 hard tickets, and the band’s independent
debut release sold over 2,000 albums. They were named Best Rock Band three
years running by Orlando Weekly 2009, 2010, and 2011 and the Tampa
Tribune named them one of the Top 5 Bands to Watch in 2011. The band was
also just voted BEST LIVE ACT, garnering an OMNi for 2011.
Everytime I see/hear/experience Thomas Wynn and The Believers, I have a renewed faith in the idea that our music of today will, someday, become legendary. They remind me that our generation does have music that will be passed on to our kids.... and they will find their voice(s) and be inspired to create unforgettable music because of the passion and talent of bands just like this. Keep rocking Thomas, Olivia, Tim, Matt, and Rion..... you will become the legends that you deserve to be!
